The unjust suffering of Christ

In all our suffering the Savoir voluntarily came down and immersed Himself in our sorrows,

Was reading about Troy Davis, a doubtful conviction and sentenced to death on doubtful evidence.

Was reminded about Jesus, who baptised Himself in  these injustices, voluntarily subjecting Himself to false convictions, enduring the unjust torture, punishment death for sinners.

Isaiah 53:

7He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.

8He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken.

Let me remember the suffering of Christ in my trials and count it an honour to share His cup that I may also partake of His glory.

He is a man of deep compassion, a man of deep sorrow who sorrowed over our hardened condition of our hearts when on earth, a man who took on our afflictions, our pain, who was subject to much pain, much sorrow.
